In 1969, José de Melo and his wife, realizing the tourism potential of Balneário Camboriú, began building a small hotel on Avenida Brasil. Coming from humble families and with the help of a few bricklayers, in January 1970, only 6 months after construction began, they opened their doors to welcome tourists from several Brazilian states.
A few years passed until 1975, when José, at just 37 years old, died in a tragic car accident. With great suffering and determination, his wife had to manage the hotel on her own while also raising their 5 children, who were between 4 and 15 years old at the time.
Over time, the children began helping with the hotel tasks. The eldest son managed the hotel until 1990. From that year on, he opened his own business and the middle son took over management, still guided by the firm hand of his mother.
The city grew year after year, and the hotel had to keep pace with this evolution through constant expansions and renovations, improving its facilities and prioritizing excellent service, the latter being one of the key points behind the hotel success.
Today, the hotel is managed by a partnership of two of the five siblings, together with a staff they are proud of for its excellence.
These are more than 50 years of hard work and persistence, but above all of great joy in being able to provide its guests with moments of pleasure, comfort and happiness. Despite the hotel age, the partners are always keeping up with the market rapid changes and seek to offer their guests a modern and practical experience.
